Tata buys Jaguar and Land Rover

image As widely expected, Ford has announced it has sold Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata for $2.3 billion, which is less than half of what Ford initially paid for those 2 brands. The transfer is to take place at the end of second quarter.

2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe photos

Hyundai’s newest coupe will be 2010 Genesis Coupe. It will be officially unveiled this week during New York Autoshow, but some official pictures have been leaked. Here are a few of them. Overall, the car looks like a marked improvement over Tiburon and that wheel looks particularly sweet. Specs have not been released, nor a projected price but knowing that this is a Hyundai vehicle, it will be affordable with plenty of standard features.

Red light camera causes accidents

redlight New study by researchers at the University of South Florida Public Health have discovered that intersections with red-light cameras installed have actually higher accident rate than the ones without cameras. The main cause is the fact that drivers slam on brakes when they see a yellow light causing the cars behind to collide with them. Apart from boosting city’s treasury, the camera was widely touted as a safety feature by reducing the number of people who run red lights.

200 car pile-up on Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway

accident Early Tuesday morning, due to severe weather conditions, there was a horrific accident on Abu-Dhabi-Dubai highway, near Ghantoot. It is reported that it involved 200 vehicles, including 25 of those that went up in flames. Early report suggests a death toll of 6, with hundreds injured.
