Consumer Reports still remains one of the most reputable magazine for reviewing, well, virtually every consumer good. They just released their pick for Top 10 cars of this year (2007):
The list is dominated by Japanese manufacturers only, shutting out American, German and Korean automakers. Some may argue there is a bias against German and American cars, but their concern is not fun to drive: it is instead finding out the most reliable, the most bang-for-the-buck and the best user-friendly vehicles on the market. If you want a list based solely on performance and driving experiences, then expect to see a pro-German bias (especially concerning BMW vehicles) since most auto publications accept advertisements and sponsored test-drives.
