Some people have all the luck in the world and can get things before the general public does… gottabemobile.com’s Hugo Ortega reviews HTC Shift, which is a Windows Mobile and UMPC rolled into one. All of you Americans who want a mobile phone masquerading as an UMPC, your answer is finally shipping. HTC’s Advantage is now available at Amazon.com and CompUSA. All you have to do is pay the $899 USD + shipping and applicable taxes, and you’ll be the new owner of an unrivaled pocket device.
Just to refresh your fragile minds, HTC Advantage features 5-inch VGA touchscreen, GPS, 8 GBs harddrive, detachable QWERTY keyboard and the full gamut of connectivity options including wi-fi and 3G network.

Here’s another reason why I won’t be getting an Apple iPhone anytime soon: HTC Omni. Currently available only in the computer rendering, it is rumored to run on Windows Mobile 6 and feature 3G, 4-inch 800×480 display, TV/VGA out, microSD expansion slot, GPS and a large QWERTY keyboard, all the stuffs the iPhone doesn’t have. Of course what HTC WM6 phone would be without Bluetooth and 802.11g…
I hope the final product will look as nice as the rendering, with all the features intact.
