Sony Ericsson needs a touchscreen device to counter all the doom and gloom about the future of the handset manufacturer, and Satio is designed as its flagship phone for the year. Featuring a 16×9 3.5” touch screen with 12.1 megapixel camera with Xenon flash, the hardware is powered by Symbian S60 (5th edition) OS. This quad-band device won’t feature internal storage, but you could add up to 8GB with microSD cards. Set to launch in October for an unannounced price, I really hope another touchscreen device from, let’s say Apple, won’t overshadow Satio even before its launch.
Just because iPhone is launching in just a few days doesn’t mean it will be the perfect phone for everybody. Fido has recently released Sony Ericsson’s W380a at $60 (with 3-year contract) or $300 without any contract. How does this multimedia-oriented phone fare?
CNET (6.7/10): “respectable, midrange Walkman phone that offers some nifty design touches. But there are better Walkman options out there”
There isn’t too many reviews available so far (as the W380a isn’t even offered by an American carrier)
Sony Ericsson’s first Windows Mobile phone is a gorgeous device featuring a 3 inch touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard. Other features include 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi, aGPS, Bluetooth and 4-way key and optical joystick. It should ship in select markets end of this year.
XPERIA X1 debuts the panel interface which is supposed to improve the drab home screen of most Windows Mobile 6 devices.
