Well it’s official, folks. After rumours spanning many books, J.K. Rowling confirmed that Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts and mentor of Harry Potter, is indeed gay. I don’t think it’s newsworthy, but some groups believe this would lead to more acceptance of gays (since one of the most respected characters in Harry Potter is was one) while others are unhappy that he is gay.
No matter what side of the debate you’re on, or even if you don’t care, this new development just deepens the Harry Potter universe, populating with very diverse characters.
